Amaco Pearlescent P-20 Aqua Shimmer (Pint)
P-20 Aqua Shimmer is a fluid, soft turquoise glaze with iridescent mottling where thick.
Amaco Pearlescent glazes are "shimmery mattes with movement": fluid satin glazes that develop a pearly sheen and subtle micro-crystalline effects. All Pearlescent colors can be mixed with one another to create custom colors, and they layer well over Amaco Celadons, Potter's Choice and Satin Matte glazes.
Application
- Shake well before use. Do not thin the glaze.
- Apply 3 brush coats to Cone 04 bisque, letting each coat dry (2 coats if applied heavily). Amaco recommends their Fitch Fan Brush.
- Under-application gives a dry surface with no crystals; over-application can look rough and flow more.
- Glaze fire to Cone 5-6. Fire to Cone 6 when used alone or layered for results similar to Amaco's tiles.
- Layering may run if paired with a runny glaze. Apply receding coats and test combinations on tiles first.
Due to variations in raw materials, we recommend firing test tiles before using each new batch of glaze. Food safe when fired as directed (tested for lead and cadmium release per ASTM C738-94).
