Olympic Torchbearer and Raku Gas Kiln OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES
Analog Pyrometer- An analog pyrometer is an available option for measuring temperature of the kiln while firing. Pryometers are not installed directly on gas kilns and the instrucent itself should be wall mounted away from thekilnto prevent damage to the instrument. Olympic's pyrometer is rate 0-2500F.
Digital Pyrometer
120 Volt High Limit Electronic Controller - Olympic's electronic wall unit features programming by cone number or allows you to create your own programs. Each program has eight segments with ramp/hold profiles and controlled cooling rate. The controller also features numerous means for diagnosing problems and convenient program review before or during a firing. Because the electronic controller runs in an on/off mode and is not proportional, the gas kiln operator will need to manually adjust the gas flow several times as the kiln reaches 1500F, when the controller can fully automate the firing.
The normally optional IGNITION SYSTEM WITH SAFETY THERMOCOUPLE SHUTOFF VALVE is included with all of our Olympic Gas Raku and Torchbearer Kilns except where noted.

Natural Sheffield Clay is mined on our property from as seen at one of the open clay pits. The Sheffield Clay deposit is located in Sheffield, Massachusetts, on U.S. Route 7 in the Southwest corner of Berkshire County.
