High Wattage Price includes HEAVY DUTY ROLLING KILN STAND If you have difficulty loading deep kilns, we recommend the 22 ¼” deep TnF-23-3. If you need extra firing capacity in a more shallow option, consider the top-selling Paragon TNF23-3 studio kiln.
During busy seasons when orders are backlogged, you will be grateful you own a dependable Paragon kiln such as the TnF-23-3. Studio owners call these 10-sided stoneware kilns “real work horses.”
Paragon studio kilns have withstood years of abuse in school environments. High school ceramics teachers fire these kilns unmercifully, without remorse. Yet the kilns keep going. People swear by them.
The 10-sided Paragon TNF23-3 studio kiln comes in deluxe 3” thick sidewalls, lid and bottom. This is 20% thicker than the standard 2 ½” thick bricks. Since the TnF-23-3 is designed to fire porcelain and stoneware, it will easily handle low-fire ware.
The massive TnF-23-3 lid is easy to lift with the exclusive, patented Paragon counter-balance LiteLid. The LiteLid reduces the strain and wall flex on the kiln body from the pressure of the lid. This lengthens the life of the firebricks. The LiteLid eliminates cumbersome pulleys and ropes.
The 24” wide stand for 10 & 12-sided kilns supports the brick bottom with framing that is 4 ½” wide across the top of each side. The stand accommodates the Orton KilnVent. The stand is rock-steady, with 16-gauge frame and heavy 12-gauge legs.
If you move your 10-sided stoneware kiln out of the way when not in use, order an optional deluxe kiln stand with steel casters.
Something to consider if you already own a 12-sided kiln: Why purchase a 10-sided kiln such as the TnF-23-3 when you produce enough ware to fill a 12-sided kiln? It is because some ware fires more efficiently in a 10-sided kiln. Example: 10- and 12-sided kilns both fire four 10” wide bowls per shelf. When you own both sizes of kilns, you can choose the most efficient kiln for each size of ware. The 10-sided kiln is a good choice for those whose production depends on short firing cycles. Since 10-sided kilns are smaller than 12-sided, they can heat and cool faster. The 10-sided shelves are lighter than the 12-sided, and easier to lift.
Lock-in lid support Large, tapered peepholes Ventilated switch box Hand lifts Dropped, recessed brick grooves—no pins needed Heavy duty elements Dust-free coating in the peepholes, both sides of the lid and top rim of firebrick Heavy gauge stainless steel case Operating instructions silk-screened on the switch box Certified to CSA & UL Standard 499 Full-formed galvanized steel base plate The Optional Furniture Kit (not included)
The furniture kit consists of carefully selected fireclay shelves and posts for this particular model. When estimating the price of the kiln, include the cost of furniture. The furniture allows you to stack multiple layers of ware. Without it, you could fire only the ware that would fit on the kiln bottom.
