Clayscapes Glazes For Cone 6 : CP7 STARRY NIGHT.
Starry Night is an opaque, glossy, temmoku, dark brown glaze that develops tea dust in shades of gold to light yellow. Starry Night is a cone 6 electric temoku glaze. When cooled slowly Starry Night will form iron crystals that create a specking or dusting effect on the surface of the glaze. Starry Night looks great with Coastal Blue, Redwood, Wheat, and many other glazes. Try layering these glazes for unlimited combinations and effects but check tips to avoid too much glaze on the runnier ones.
NOTE: We just learned that our Starry Night and Nebula glazes do not like each other. This is a glaze combination you will want to steer clear of.

  • Add 10 ounces of water per dry pound of glaze and mix – let sit overnight and then add 2 ounces of water per dry pound of glaze and mix again. We usually let them sit overnight again before using.

This glaze is formulated for dipping or pouring applications. If you want to use this glaze for brushing you will need to add CMC or commercial brushing media such as this one from Spectrum : Spectrum-Glaze-1070-Brushing-Media-Pint .

Clayscapes Pottery Glazes are beautiful and unique. They are well tested and ship with mixing instructions with specific gravity / hydrometer reading. Using a hydrometer went mixing your glazes, you ensure yourself a consistent mix with the correct amount of water every time.
