Smokey Purple is a cone 6 oxidation glaze. Smokey Purple is a semi-transparent, glossy gray glaze with purple undertones. On porcelain it will be a lighter gray-purple, on white clay it will be slightly darker and on red clay it will be a dark gray-purple.

  • Add 10 ounces of water per dry pound of glaze and mix – let sit overnight and then add 2 ounces of water per dry pound of glaze and mix again. We usually let them sit overnight again before using.

This glaze is formulated for dipping or pouring applications. If you want to use this glaze for brushing you will need to add CMC or commercial brushing media such as this one from Spectrum : Spectrum-Glaze-1070-Brushing-Media-Pint .
