Responding
to popular demand, we are happy to announce that we, after a long
period of development, now have a new slip for potters, porcelain
artists and other porcelain enthusiasts, the ARTIST WHITE porcelain
slip. What
makes it different from other Seeley porcelain slip? It is not
developed for dollmaking. It is a more refractory firing to cone 6-8
and should be glazed. We do not recommend to decorate with china
paints, as it might mildew. It is formulated for use on larger pieces,
such as dinnerware, platters, bowls and other large designs as it is
resistant to slumping and warpage. Like
our other porcelains, it pours and sets up well. It has the whiteness
of our Pearl White, Firing range to maturity is cone 6-8. "I
love Artist White porcelain slip for my glazed decorative arts projects
like figurines and half dolls! It pours, releases and cleans easily.
When I apply glaze to the soft-fired ware and
fire it to cone 6 the bisque shrinks less and is extremely white and
the glaze is wonderfully smooth. This is perfect for my reproductions
of antique figurines and half doll projects. I can even apply low fire glaze to the cone
6 bisque with great success. The slight porosity of the bisque makes it
easier to achieve a smooth and even glaze coverage." - Kitty Murks
Glaes should be applied to cone 018-06 bisque and fired with to the desired temperature.
