BELL-LIFT KILNS
AVAILABLE ON DAVINCI X3200 & T3400 KILNS

WHY A BELL-LIFT KILN? A common complaint concerning top loading ceramic kilns, especially the larger ones, is that it is difficult to load them. This is especially true for larger pieces. In a production pottery environment this labor intensive job can become very expensive over time. Moreover, some people simply aren't capable of doing this strenuous and heavy lifting. Front loading kilns are often desired because they seem to be easier to load. However, it is still a strain to put a heavy piece into the back of a front-loading kiln. Moreover, front loading kilns can be expensive. Shuttle kilns or envelope kilns work well for loading but they are also very expensive.

AN AFFORDABLE SOLUTION: We think we have an ideal and affordable solution for this big problem. Our Bell-Lift accessory lifts the whole kiln up as a unit exposing the bottom of the kiln for loading from all four sides.

HOW IT WORKS: The kiln sections and top are held together as one unit with a metal support frame. This unit is lifted up with a ratcheted hand winch mounted on the external frame. There are manual safety pins that lock the kiln in place when the kiln is fully raised.

EASY INSTALLATION; INEXPENSIVE SHIPPING: his whole support frame is made from heavy duty welded parts that are easily assembled on site so that the system can be easily broken down for inexpensive common carrier shipping. (It is a two to three person job to assemble the kiln. Only simple tools, like wrenches are required).

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM HEIGHT REQUIRED IN YOUR ROOM? You must pay attention to height. An 18", 27" or 36" high kiln (interior) will be 105" high, and a 45" high kiln will be 123" high.).

LARGE FORMAT INDUSTRIAL BELL LIFT KILNS

This model T664754 is 100 cubic feet

L&L Kiln Mfg., Inc. announces the development of a line of large industrial-grade Bell-Lift kilns designed for industrial ceramics and other industrial applications. The first model is 100 cubic feet (66” wide by 47” deep by 54” high). Larger and smaller models can be built. The kiln reaches 2350°F (1290°C or cone 10).

The kiln is based on L&L’s sectional DaVinci kiln technology with strong shallow arched sides. The elements are supported in L&L unique hard ceramic element holders which contribute to a trouble-free and easy-to-maintain kiln. The entire kiln easily comes apart and can be assembled by in-house maintenance personnel. On-site assembly service is also available from the factory.

The kiln moves up and down on a track by means of an electric brake winch. It can be loaded from all four sides. Power supply is typically 480 volts with 277 volt elements on a wye system. The control is L&L’s time-proven three-zone multi-program DynaTrol.

Various insulation packages are available as well as special bottoms, powered vents, special thermocouples and control packages.

Because of the modular construction, delivery can be as quick as 6 weeks and assembly and commissioning time can be days rather than weeks. The modular construction also keeps initial prices very reasonable and maintenance costs low. Total installed savings over traditional construction methods can be as much as 50%.
