Inside dimensions: 28 ¼ " wide
x 31 ½ " deep, fires
to cone 10/2350°F
Model comes with burner system,
four peephole plugs, brick for
covering porthole on top during
reduction, instruction manual,
and warranty card. The ignition
system with thermocouple safety
shut-off is an option and the
kiln may be purchased as a Base
kiln. The optional gas kiln sitter system
performs like it would on an
electric kiln. A pyrometric cone
is used and when the cone bends
it will cause the kiln sitter
to mechanically shut down the
kiln. Gas kilns with kiln sitters
need to be located near a 120-volt
receptacle.
One-year warranty.
Note: The prices shown for the Torchbearer and Raku kilns here include the Ignition Ring with Thermocouple Safety Shut-off
which adds a high degree of safety. We can supply these kilns without
the Ignition ring but we feel that for safety's sake these should
always be installed.
The price with out the ignition ring are $300 less for 28" kilns and $250 less for all others.
The ignition system is used to:
■ Light the multiple burner system from
one point
■ Maintain the flame on each burner
■ Re-ignite any burner that may
extinguish
The thermocouple safety shut-off will stop the gas flow if the flame is lost entirely.
